We know you are tired.
Being a mental health professional is one of the most difficult, beautiful, heart wrenching, joyful, exhausting, and invigorating experiences a human can have - all at the same time. It is truly the highest honor and privilege - and it is so, so hard.
It can feel like you’re on a roller coaster. Sometimes it feels like magic is happening. You can literally feel throughout your entire being that you are guiding people to create huge shifts and changes in their life. Everything seems to just click for your client - insights and awareness and hope in abundance! Other times, it feels like you both are dragging your feet through mud, hardly moving, trudging through darkness with little light. The ups and downs of this ride can happen over the course of days, hours, or even shifting every few minutes.
No wonder some days you lie awake at night, your mind spinning and restless, your body tense, tight, and hurting. Or, you collapse in exhaustion at the end of the day, numbed out, unable to make any more decisions, very little to no capacity for the people you love.
We get it, and we want to help. We created this 3 day somatic retreat not only to provide you with enough CEU's for the entire YEAR, but to help you learn to care deeply for yourself - mind, body, and spirit.

What you will experience:
Day 1: October 23, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
You will let go of your stresses and settle into our time together with a luxurious trauma-informed yoga practice led by Pam that includes anxious energy release, breathwork, and a long guided meditation. You will notice how the movement and rest impacted your thoughts, body, and emotions, then use that info during a discussion on the nervous system. You will learn how to notice regulation and dysregulation of your own body/mind, and also your clients. Unconscious negative core beliefs that you may carry will be uncovered, and you will learn how they impact your work and happiness. Pauses for somatic release and soothing will be incorporated throughout the day, and you will learn how to incorporate these short pauses before, during, and after your work with clients to keep your peace. We will end the day with a silent, sensory hike on the beautiful Camp Loughridge trails.
Day 2: October 24, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
You will begin the day by reconnecting with your inner source through a grounding meditation and gentle somatic practice guided by Lindsay. You will notice what it feels like to lead from your Highest Self (the unshakable presence within) and reflect on how disconnection from that place can impact your work, energy, and relationships. Through parts dialogue, inner reflection, and nature-based exercises, you will explore how to care for the parts of you that carry burnout, over-functioning, and over-responsibility. You will learn how to access internal spaciousness, restore inner peace, and lead from Self in both life and work. Pauses for regulation and gentle movement will be woven throughout the day. We will close with a hike in nature and a meditative practice to anchor the insights you’ve gained and to honor the sacred art of showing up for yourself.
Day 3: October 25, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
This day is all about experiencing and experimenting with movement, stillness, and mindfulness! Katt will lead you through somatic release and soothing exercises to reconnect with your body, calm your mind, and tap into your natural ability to heal and grow. We'll finish her portion with journaling, coloring, or drawing to integrate the experience. Danielle will invite you to experiment firsthand with gentle, accessible mindfulness practices you can begin incorporating into your daily life and therapeutic work. She'll also help you understand what mindfulness really is and dispel any myths. Lastly, you will take all the info you gathered at the retreat to create your own individualized, unique Daily Self-Preservation Plan©️. This will enable you to leave the retreat with a solid plan to implement the strategies you learned into your everyday life- hopefully for the rest of your life!

About Katt Townsend's offerings: "Soma Lab has changed me. In general, I'm a person who has trauma related to "exercise", difficulty being vulnerable and expressing my emotions, and body shame. The Soma Lab format has given me the space to move in new ways, interact lovingly with my body, and truly express "big" emotions. Thank you for providing such a warm and welcoming experience. Last week I was excited to be in my own body, just as it is, for the first time in my life. I've been telling everyone I can about SL. You are such a treasure, Katt."
About Pam Nelson's offerings: “The trauma-informed yoga sessions have become a sanctuary where I can tune into my body, release tension, and find moments of inner calm even when everything inside is saying otherwise. The practice of mindfulness and breathwork has been instrumental in helping me quiet the noise in my mind and reconnect with the present moment.”
About Danielle Miner's offerings: "Mindfulness used to feel like trying to herd lightning with a butterfly net—until Danielle. She doesn’t just teach calm, she curates it—like a mixtape for your nervous system. With science, soul, and the softest strength, she guided me back to myself one curious breath at a time. Danielle made meditation feel like a conversation with my whole self—not a performance, but a homecoming."
About Lindsay Benson's offerings: "Lindsay's ability to use parts work in my trauma therapy has been transformational in my profession and personal life. Her guidance helped me access, learn and extend compassion to various parts of me, and have led to healing those parts related to past traumas and self-doubts, while strengthening and growing those parts that are my best and healthiest versions of me. As a mental health professional, this work has emboldened my own practice. Parts work has strengthened my own self confidence to help others, while providing my own clients with the compassion and care they need to heal. Thank you Lindsay!"
